I’m sure the UPS man thinks I’m a total freak. Every time I get a box from Stampin’ Up!, I watch for him to come up the driveway, then send a kid out for the box. I can’t even wait for him to park and get out of his truck. When other stuff arrives (and by that I mean stuff for other members of my family), he can take all the time he wants getting to the door.
My latest box o’goodies arrived last week, and I couldn’t wait to play with the new Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper. What amazing color combinations and patterns! Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive…yum, yum, yum!
This paper, along with the coordinating stamp set, Bright Blossoms, as well as other products from the suite, are a sneak peek of the upcoming 2012-13 Idea Book and Catalog. During April, you can order products from this sneak peek, then they won’t be available until the catalog goes live on June 1. You can see the complete selection of products in the suite at my website.
But before you go, take a look at these two Easter cards I quickly created using the DSP and some Easter clipart I found at The Crafting Chicks blog. I just downloaded and resized it using Photoshop Elements.
I traced a foam egg shape Princess Thundercloud was crafting with, and cut it out of some of the DSP. After matting it on Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White, I used the Modern Label Punch on the clipart for the sentiment, then the XL Label punch to mat that. After punching a scallop border on another piece of DSP, I rounded the corners and smiled. It’s a happy card.
This was even quicker than the first card. I used a Stampin’ Up! notecard for the base, matted the clipart on Melon Mambo, and added a piece of the DSP. Glue it all together, and it’s done. Yes, I want to add some sort of bling, but I’m going to resist. Clean and simple is my goal for today.
I hope you find time to be a little creative today, be it stamping, knitting, or whatever makes you smile!
WOW, I'm impressed you could resist the bling. I don't think I can ever do that! Ha.
ReplyDeleteLove these bright, colorful cards, Megan. So spring-y and full of the hope of the season. Hope you five have a wonderful Easter, filled with all kinds of special blessings.
